      <text>
        I'm all for it!

        To those who don't get it, the advantage is security. Every time you use your credit card, you are giving out your credit card number — and opening the door to having it stolen.

        With Paypal, you have to authorize each individual transaction. Only Paypal has the CC number; merchants don't receive it. Now instead of your credit card number being in the hands of EVERY place you buy something, it's only in one company's database. Result: lower risk of identity theft.

        Yes, I'm sure that Best Buy's data security practices are up to industry standards. But it only takes one slip-up by one merchant to compromise a whole bunch of credit card numbers … and it happens even to the biggest and the best. It even happens to those who are up to the industry standard. By offering Paypal, Best Buy would offer customers a little more peace of mind.

        It's actually about selling useful, well-made products at competitive prices. Easy to lose sight of that in the midst of all the new technology buzz.

        That said, communication and transparency are good things.
