If I was buying a phone I would want to play around with the phone before I buy it. Demo phones are good to see how they feel but what makes Best Buy different from vendors in the mall.

Besides giving the customer information like ratings, reviews and specs it is a great opportunity to offer the customer a just in time promotion. Based on the customer using our app and identifying who they are we could send tailored offers to increase close rate in the stores.

If Best Buy had an application or a mobile tool that would allow me to take a picture of a product in another store - maybe the barcode - and then Best Buy could tell me if they sold it and whether they sold it cheaper (or would give me rewards points or something) - and then let me buy it right there.

With a large amount of the phone out there having the ability to scan bar codes why not put on QR Codes so you can just scan it and it opens the link to bestbuy.com for product information, rather than having to text the sku to best buys service and wait for a response.
