Why can't I upgrade the memory in-store on a new laptop purchase?

How hard can this be? I want to walk in, or log in, buy a new laptop, and upgrade the memory at the time of purchase, and have someone competent install it before I ever take it home.

        Hi baseballnpink -

Our in-store Geek Squad agents should be able to help you out with an install on hardware on your new laptop at the time of purchase. Of course, what they're able to upgrade your laptop to as far as memory will depend on the laptop that you purchase, and not all laptops have upgradeable memory either. You can check out more about Geek Squad services computer hardware install services here: http://bit.ly/d7lptq.

        Thanks, Coral
