Option to select "Another person is picking up this order" on BestBuy.com

This idea came from a really bad experience just a few days before christmas. I had placed an order on BestBuy.com ( a few games, nothing much ), and paid using PayPal. I set up an account with my sister so she would be able to go and pick up the items. She got to the store, and was not allowed to pick the items up. We had to cancel the order because I was not able to pick them up personally.

This then had me come up with the idea that Best Buy should have a checkbox on the ordering page that says if another person will be picking this order up. And if they choose it, it allows for you to type in their name (and/or address for security).

By adding this feature, tons of people could easily order anytime, anywhere, and can have people who are near the store pick up the items.

Oh, and for reference, Sears.com uses a similar feature on their website.

Good Idea. This should be implemented because i also order something under my sister's account and paid with my credit card, and she was not able to pick it up for some reason so i had the order cancelled.

I completely agree. This would have been a real help recently when I purchased my son a laptop. Initially, I wanted to purchase the laptop on the website and have it available for him to pick it up at his local Best Buy store, since he lives several hours away, but after reading the fine print, realized this wasn't possible. I understand the idea behind having to show ID and the credit card used for purchase is to prevent fraud somehow, but it seems to me that a simple PIN number or password, or even his driver's license number entered at the time of purchase would be a reasonable work around.

It's definately something that BestBuy needs to catch up on already.
