Have quarterly recycling events around the nation with free hard drive removal. When our store had a recycling event for earth day we filled 12 Gaylord boxes.

This is a great idea. why not promote it monthly? It shows best buys commitment to the environment as electronics are very hard to recycle...

Big recycling events are great, but also, the store should accept items for recycling any time.

You can recycle everyday at your local best buy just make sure it follows these guidelines.

The general public does not know well enough what to do with old electronics, especially computers. BBY is well positioned to improve brand by addressing this holistically. This is a huge global issue and BBY would do very well to demonstrate solutions to target markets

best buy does recycle electronics, call your local best buy for details, mine (store 252 in Scottsdale, AZ does) as well as other stores, for anything that has a screen (tv, monitor, etc) there is a $10 dollar charge but you get a $10 dollar gift card back, and with pc's we do that as well, if you need the hard drive wiped out (it has to be wiped out) geek squad can do it for you for $19.99 (no refund) then recycle it.

I really feel this could thrive, Best Buy could create a kiosk just for recycling ink cartridges, paper and random electronic and office stuff at least if those products are small meaning the maximum in length, width, height is 7". I would really make this kiosk more attractive as well as located in a see-able and convienient location.

this is all great
but obviously it needs to better known
and instore boxes/kiosks just for recycling random things will do the trick to make it common knowledge that the company is making efforts

I like the idea of recycling but the thing that really annoys me is that there is no 'charge' for plastic bags (re: Ikea), and more importantly, there is no way for me to dump all of the recyclable items (plastic cases, etc etc) that I get at the store on my way out of the door. It would be nice if Best Buy took at least a few steps to help customers with at least some minimal effort in this area at the store.
